The Magic of Art Clay
This course is for the complete beginner, offering the chance to 'play' with the clay for a few hours, you will make a fine pure silver pendant or earrings or a few charms. You will practice shaping, texturing and molding the clay using standard techniques. You will have the chance of using the syringe type clay as well as the lump and paste type, and will discover the importance of finishing the pre-fired clay. Finally using the torch method you will turn the clay items into fine pure 99.9% Silver. You will leave with 3-4 finished pieces.
Course approximately 4-5 hours in duration £90.
Art Clay An Introduction
This course really gets you started with Art Clay, similar to the above, but much more in depth. You will be trying more techniques such as stone setting, hollow forms, perhaps adding colour and antique patina to pure fine silver. You will feel really comfortable working with Art Clay, and able to take these skills forward to further explore your creativity. You will leave with up to 5 finished pieces of your own fine pure silver jewellery.
Course approximately 5-6 hours in duration £110.
Charm School!
Get together with a few friends or colleagues and make some charms for a bracelet, a lovely gift for the Bride from the bridesmaids, or for your organization to auction as a fund raiser! This course can also be a fun and unusual team building exercise, or children's party - minimum age 9.
Course approximately 2-3 hours £45 per person.
Achieving Colour Effects on Art Clay
Come and learn how to put colour onto your fine silver pieces using various methods and techniques, like using Liver of Sulphur or enamels to achieve an aged effect or a colourful rainbow finish, or using polymer clay as a faux stone. You will make some fine silver jewellery and then have fun with some colour techniques.
Course approximately 2 half days £150.
Please note that all the above courses are subject to change.
Courses can also be devised to suit the individual, or group depending on ability and requirements.
Most Art Clay courses are run on a one-to-one basis, or a one-to-two basis, but if you have other requirements I would be happy to discuss them with you.
Please also note that my studio is located up a small flight of stairs.
